Method Putkisto: renew mind and body!

Method Putkisto is a combination of yoga, Pilates, the Alexander technique and physiotherapy. Marja Putkisto, the founder of this method, runs the classes herself and has published several books and DVDs about about Method Putkisto and Pilates. She developed the technique while working at the Sibelius Academy (the Finnish University of Music) and the Finnish National Opera as a movement and dance teacher.

The Method Putkisto is suitable for people of all ages and fitness and is about stretching and strengthen core muscles around the sacrum (lower back) and diaphragm, and to stretch and lengthen the area around the chest and back. It is also known for good breathing technique.

The method is slow but you will feel changes in your body immediately. It will improve in a great extend the muscle balance which will result in greater freedom of movement and you will improve the imposture and flexibility. As it works out specially the muscles in the diaphragm is especially recommended as well to people who desire a flat stomach.
