Artificial meat will be soon a reality
It is said that in one year burgers artificially created will be a reality. They believe this lab-grown meat will be used to feed the world. Would you dare to be the first to try it?
In vitro meat promises to decrease starvation in the world, reduce greenhouse gases and to stop animals from being slaughtered. According to the Dutch scientists “over the next few decades the world’s population will increase so quickly that there will be not enough livestock to feed everyone.”
They are already developing a burger grown taking stem cells from cattle. How this works? Well, they extract stem cells from animal’s muscle and then this muscle cells will grow and the dish will be ready to put it in the microwave. In this case, they will extract them from cows to create the burgers.
In the Daily Mail reports that Holland is the leading country in the production of artificial meat and the government has put £1.5 million into research.
As we have said before, one of the reasons to make this is that there will not be enough livestock in the future, but is this going to prevent animal suffering? I do not think so, since if everybody will eat cultured meat it will be because there is not enough “real” meat for all.
But what about our health? Maybe is about time to start thinking of becoming vegan.
